 | Centrally located, the Igloo is run by helpful and experienced backpackers, and so far we have welcomed more than 55.000 people since opening in 1994.
You will find us in an historic Victorian building, surrounded by shops, pubs, eat-ins and take-outs, sights and sounds plus a 24 hour supermarket.
Our facilities include a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, washrooms with 24 hr hot showers, lockers, t.v./film lounge, free internet and wi-fi, laundry facilities and a games room with pool table and more.
Check-in: 09.00 - 01.00. We close at 3 a.m. | | If you are on the tourism trail, we will provide you with a map, information and leaflets so you know your way around, and staff are always here to point you in the direction of a good pint, great grub, live gigs etc. or you can chill out in the lounge with fellow travellers and residents. | | If you are looking for Robin Hood, we are 1 minute walk from the Victoria Bus Station for buses to the forest.
For music lovers, Rock City and the Arena are 5-8 minutes walk from us and Market Square 8-10 minutes on foot for shopping and sight seeing. | | Open all day all year until 3 a.m., the Igloo offers no chores or heavy rules - just a chance to meet some friendly people and get a good nights sleep at the end of an active day..... if you're ever in town - pay us a visit :) |

We are surrounded by great food, pubs and cafes as well as supermarkets.
1 minute by foot from Victoria Bus Station and Shopping Centre. 5-8 minutes walk from Rock City, Rescue Rooms, The Arena, Trent University, Goose Fair,
8-10 minutes on foot from Market Square (T.I.C. Centre) from where all city sights are within 2-5 minutes walk. | | Directions | Walk - From Market Square (Tourist Information Centre), head for Clumber St and walk straight on for 10 minutes past the Victoria Shopping Centre to the Golden Fleece pub on your left. We are diagonally opposite on the corner of Mansfield Road and Fulforth St. Please note entry is on the the side of the building through a red gate. | | Transportation | Both stations (bus and train) are located south of the city - easily walkable (15-20 minutes max).
If you have a lot of luggage, a taxi would cost you around £3.50 - £4.00 or the tram (£1.50) runs from the train station to Goldsmith Street by the University (4th stop) - take the next road (Peel St) on your right and follow that until it hits the main road (Mansfield Road) - we are the house on the corner across the road - entry on the side of the building. | | Airport | E.M.A (East Midlands) - 45-50 minutes by bus to Market Square (Skylink) |
